Our Journey to Carbon Neutrality
Achieving carbon neutrality wasn't a quick fix. It took a dedicated effort across our entire team and company practises. Here are some key steps we implemented:
Sustainable Materials
At Glendining Signs, our commitment to a sustainable future is rooted in our continuation to ensure eco-friendly materials are used across all our signage. We replaced many of our sign materials with PVC-free alternatives without compromising on quality, recycling all sign material waste where possible, and allowing you to promote your message with minimal environmental impact.
One of our main changes was making our sign packs available in eco-friendly materials, such as bubble board. Bubble board is made from recyclable materials and offers a lightweight, efficient design that minimises material use. Our best-selling Traffic Management Sign Pack is available in correx, making it the perfect eco-friendly choice. Similarly, our Compound Sign Pack is made using bubble board, a material that is created from recyclable materials, helping to divert waste from landfills and instead be used as an eco-friendly alternative.

Energy Efficiency
We upgraded our production facilities to reduce energy consumption. Through the adoption of new print technology utilising LED cold cure lamps and ambient temperature curing inks, we've reduced our energy consumption by up to 82% throughout our printing process.
Emissions Reduction
We implemented strategies to mitigate emissions throughout our supply chain and production process. This included optimising transportation as well as having an efficient recycling and waste management programme.
Offsetting Carbon Footprint
We invested in a carbon offset scheme to fund the construction of a Hydroelectric Power Plant - a VERRA certified carbon standard scheme. Offsetting allows us to compensate for unavoidable emissions while we continue to implement sustainable practices and move towards a net-zero future. In January 2024, we offset around 200 tonnes of CO2 emissions as a company. That’s the equivalent of planting around 8,000 trees!
